Can termites live above ground like in a second floor garage.?
Question:The walls are brick and is on a concreet pad but it has wooden rafters. I found piles of saw dust on the ground just the other day.
Answers:
It depends on where you live. Generally, termites live in the soil. Only certain species will actually move into a structure.
The sawdust you are seeing is mostly likely from carpenter ants and not termites.
Termites don't leave sawdust because they eat the wood.
Those are wood bees , They are big and black and will eat right through tour wood until they are inside your house, However Termites have been known to do the same . Do some digging around the house and look for big holed made from the bees good luck
Yes, it could be termites.
termites live in the ground. however they do come up out of the ground to eat. they look like ants from a distance so you may not have noticed them
Yep, they sure can. They eat wood and can also bore through cement and cinder blocks. They live in a methane invironment and that means their tunneling is sealed, look for what looks like mud packs on outside and inside walls which is a sure indication that there is a problem.
Call the exterminator Termites have no mercy
