Recenty, I seen something on TV about a power panel that they can install that will power your whole house without the contributing to greenhouse gases.

I can give you a lot of help, but it's too lengthy to go into in this format. Email me at tootall1121@yahoo.com.

What I will need to know is the climate in which you intend to build, square footage, and other considerations. the new solar panels will not supply a house it's complete electricity needs constantly without a storage system. what they do is make electricity very efficiently from sunlight, but you must either have a storage system which is costly to maintain and the making of which is harmful to the environment, or you must be on the grid, the power company buys back the excess power you make during the day, then you buy it back at night and other times when your collectors are not making power. with enough of them, you can make it so that the power company pays you all the time.

There are many, many other considerations, building materials, home design, insulation and ventilation, very many things to consider for getting the most bang for your buck. Fortunately, some of the most energy efficient materials are also relatively cheap.
