How do I get rid of Wasps in my backyard / pool?

Question:Everyday wasps come to my pool get water & fly away. I've looked all over and cant find their nest. I think they are coming from across the street. How do I keep them away from my pool?

Answers:
Unfortunately there really is no way to stop critters from visiting your pool. About the best thing you can do is maintain higher chlorine levels of 3-5ppm. This will discourage them as it will kill off many and the survivors will tell the nest not to visit. It's amazing the amount of communication that bees, wasps, and hornets have in a nest. If the water is unpalatable to them they will inform the entire nest and you won't get nearly as many visitors.

Try spraying them with hairspray, that freezes their wings.
Use Raid Wasp and Hornet killer. Just fallow the directions on the can. This is very effective.
Don't. Wasps won't touch you if you don't touch them. Besides in the us most wasps died out do to pestisides. They pollinat e plants. with out them there will be no fruits or vegatbles
if you would like a more environmentally safe method than the chemicals try a wasp trap, they are sold at home depot/lowe's and other home and gardening centers, plus most a pretty and look nice hanging from the trees in your yard.have a budget then you can make your own too!
