I lost a very important file box somewhere in my house. I've searched EVERYWHERE. Suggestions?

I have found that accusing someone else of taking or moving the item seems to work. The guilt of accusing someone of taking the item seem to jog my memory as where it has it went. That is just a guess. I just know it has a higher success rate than just looking of it.

Lay down and close your eyes and go back in time to the last time you saw it. It might take a couple of tries, but it will come to you.
In an extra suit case ... under the bed ... shelf in a closet ... attic ... basement ... spare bedroom drawer

Look in the last place you would think to find it. I always find stuff in the last place I look. LOL

just sit down watch leno for a little while and totally forget about it!
in a bout an hour after you mind has been off of it...you will remember where you put it!

or sometimes when i am in a hurry, i take ALL the document with me...then i forget that its still in the car!
