Looking for a healthy but effective alternative to mosquito/insect repellents. Needs 2 B available in Canada.?
Question:Whenever I step outside the house in the warm months, I get attacked by mosquitos and other "invisible" bugs which leads to painful swelling and itching. Looking for healthy, effective preventative measures and remedies that are easily available in Canada.

I would run over to Home Depot and check out a gadget called the Mosquito Magnet. It runs on propane like a gas grill and can clear acres of land in no time. I know people who have these and love them.
mosquito's don't like citrus. you can get a citronella plant for the yard, and this will reduce the insect issue. the plant needs to come in for the winter, so it needs to be in a pot, not the ground. you can also use Avon's "skin so soft" as a repellent.
if you eat lots of bananas, you will attract mosquito's.
for relief, i use benadryl cream on the bites. it is the same medication as in allergy medications. it can be bought at walmart or any other store that has a pharmacy.
I've heard that Bounce dryer sheets repel mosquitos.
Stick one in your belt (loop) or somewhere on you. I've tried this when we camp out, it seems to work. Kind of goofy but you could try it. Not sure how it works on other bugs.
Avon skin so soft. I have used it for years, and it also moisturizes your skin too, that's a plus!
