Growing strawberries, how to keep the pests off? ideas for natural pesticides I don't want harsh chemicals?

Question:i heard you can put garlic and water together and spray some plants and it acts as a natural pesticide. would this be ok for strawberries? it seems to have some sort of green/white flying thing and cocoons living on them! i'm new to all this as you can see.

Answers:
Its best to grow aromatic herbs in between them. Its a natural barrier against greenfly and such. Its also good for cooking with, especially herbs like mint, basil chives etc...

grow them in containers, and use beer to keep the slugs away. bit difficult to keep the blue **** off them.
You could try growing them in a hanging basket.
beer
mmm but some people like myself HATE garlic. The main enemy of strawberries is slugs. When the berries are forming, put a nice thick layer of straw under the berries to protect against slugs, snails and the wet ground.

To protect against greenfly then the most natural way is to spray a weak solution of washup liquid on the leaves. Or just squash any caterpillar or insect you see.
