I have a white bird of paradise tree... help!?

Question:It's leaves are turning brown and dying one by one. So we moved it into a room that will give it more dierct light. Maybe it needs some artificial lighting too?? How do I go about doing that? And if I do that.. can I just put it back in the room I wanted it in first with some artificial light? How much does artificial lighting cost and how do I get it and what does it look like? Where do i find it as well? Thanks a bunch!
