How to stop smoke smell from entering my room?
Question:My father is a chain and he smokes all the time in the living room which is basally right next to room. His smoke smell aways wakes me up and when ever I smell it I get very mad. I've traced to main parts of my room where it comes from. They are the door and the vent. I live in a trailer if that helps.

1 install an exhaust fan in the place where he mostly smokes.
2 Put a bucket of charcoal at the entrance to your room.
3 Put another bucket of charcoal IN YOUR ROOM.

Put Draino on your fathers cigerettes. The offensive smell will go away in about two weeks.
Tell your father his addiction is killing you as well.
At one of my houses there was an air freshener that you could put in the went... I'm not sure where your vent is, it might only work for vents on the ceiling. If you put a towel under the crack of your door that will help. And also you could get one of those air freshener things that sprays every few minutes. They probably have them at Walmart or something.

Get another adult to help you if you have to. You have to tell him . People that smoke don't smell things the way humans are supposed to smell things. In fact, it's almost as if they lose most of it.I don't know WHY, but some people that smoke smell worse than others. It is disgusting, it makes everyone around them smell like an ashtray, and it's not giving you a choice to be able to breathe clean air. I heard somewhere that there's a law stating that you cannot light up in a car, if there's anyone under the age of 8 in the vehicle. If he can't go outside, he should at least give you a room way, way, away from him and his smoke. (When we were kids, and our Dad would light up in the car, we would roll down all the windows, all the way, and the wind would be blowing so hard it would blow his hat off ! It never made him quit, but he couldn't smoke, drive, and try to hang onto his hat at the same time !)

You can buy an air purifier. You can get one on line or a store like Home Depot or Walmart. They range in price from $30 depending on the style and size. They really work. I bought one to eliminate cat odor in my apartment. Make sure it has a hepa filter in it. The one I have is made by the Hunter Fan Company out of Memphis Tennessee. Here's hot it works, it sucks in the air from your room, filters it through the hepa filter and blows out filtered air.
