Invest in a box fan and place it in a window at night. Then open another window on the opposite side of the room (or down the hall, if necessary). The fan will draw in the cooler air outside and create a breeze in your room while you're sleeping.
If your a/c is going to be broken for a while, I would suggest buying an inexpensive window unit. You will need to make sure you have a strong enough outlet to plug it into - that really depends on what kind of unit you buy.
Perhaps you could try Rent-a-center (or equivalent) and rent a window unit until your central is fixed. Or you could just buy a window unit, they're not very expensive.
Window units only cost around $100. Or buy a fan, until the a/c gets fixed if you dont want to dish out that kind of money Also before you go to bed, take a cold shower, will keep you cool for most of the night, when the temps drop anyway.
well, if you need to stay cool while sleeping, you could set a fan by your bed and keep it on all night. surely you have a fan. that helps and it feels good to have that air blowin on you!
ya, my dad doesnt really like air conditioner because he thinks they "ruin" people because once you get it you can't live without it! well, i guess he thinks that since he's a farmer and has to be outside in the heat of the summer all the time so he doesnt have an AC so i guess he's used to the hot weather..
