Is there a value to old magazines; Audubon, Nat. Geo., Newsweek, etc.? If so, how do I sell them and where?

Question:I'm cleaning out my Mom's storage room in her house and she has tons of back issues to various magazines. She is convinced they are worth money. Is this true? If so, where do I sell them? If not, is there any place that will take these as donations or should I just put them in the recycling bin? Thanks for your help!

Answers:
It's been my experience that they aren't worth much unless you can find those few people who want them. I have never been able to and I've put ads in the Classified (newspaper) and flyers in doctor's offices, etc. I ended up (after not getting one single response) donating them to my local city library--and even they didn't want all of them, even for free. Hope you have better luck than me.

They have value to a local artist or art teacher. It's doubtful that they would be willing to pay. It might be worth it to have the artist remove them for free.
