In really hot weather, what do you do with chicken scraps (i.e. skin) that maggots are attracted to?

Question:I've been keeping bagged garbage in my freezer until trash pickup day. What do other people do to keep maggots from investating their trash disposal containers? This has happened to me more than once and it's nasty.

Answers:
I save the plastic bags the produce items from the store gets put into. I put all meat AND veggy scraps in them, tie it, and toss it into the trash. It keeps the smell down too.

I put all food scraps in zip lock bags before o throw them away.
I use a 13 gallon trash bag that comes with ties. Tie it up and no problems with flies/maggots. Economical also, about 7 cents per bag.
