Whats the best way to keep mice out of your house?
Question:we had one run across the floor last night, how do you catch them? We arent dirty at all, i dont understand..maybe one of you can shead some light on the subject
Answers:
it happens,,, its called a house mouse or garden mouse.. its not about being clean. I have had the same problem... your just going to have to set up mouse traps and try and find any holes that they may come through and seal them up. go to your local store and youll find all sorts of mouse traps.
a cat will do the job.
Its best to use the sticky pads put them against the walls where rodents typically travel if you use poison they will die in your walls more than likely hidden from view and you will have an unbearable stench in your home for weeks to possibly a month or so
It takes only a very small space for a mouse to get through, so look for all possibles and block them. They can also come through an open back door. Make sure there is no food dropped on the floor, i.e. crumbs. Also check in food cupboards that the food like flour has not been "got at".
Other than that use mouse traps, or even poison if suitable.
Good luck.
Go to a health food store and get peppermint oil. Rodents are allergic to it. Pour it on a cotton ball and stick it in every hole you can find all around your baseboards and anywhere you have seen the mice. Remember a mouse can squeeze into impossibly small holes, so don't overlook the really tiny cracks.
For the ones already in your house, that all depends on how you feel about killing a mouse. I think the spring traps are the most effective, but can be dangerous if you have children or pets. The glue traps are good, but they are messy for kids/pets and you usually have to kill the mouse yourself. If you are a true tree hugger, you can get the cube traps and release them to the wild, but the very same mouse will be back in your house the very next day.
