Do caterpillers bitr?

Question:

Answers:
Caterpillers don't bite!
Hairy tent caterpillers do bite. The start out in webbed nests in fruit trees and particularly like wild cherry trees. They can do a lot of damage to fruit trees. They look like hairy worms. Once you see them and remember the details of each it's easy to tell them apart from a normal old friend caterpiller.
Thanks

Caterpillars bite leaves because they eat them. I've never heard of a person being bitten by a caterpillar but the hairy ones can cause skin irritation and/or a rash if you touch them.
Caterpillers chew leaves. There chewers not biters. Your are in no harm. I let them crawl on my arms...I like bugs except for spiders (eekk) and roaches (ahhh)
