What kind of pesticides can I safely use for leafy vegies such as spinach and kale?

Question:I live in Maryland and I see "holes" in the leaves, like bugs have been eating them but I can't identify the bugs although I believe them to be some type of beetle.

Answers:
I use Safer's solution or a dilute spray made with ivory soap. Mantis eggs are available, as are ladybugs. They're good additions to your garden. Tanglefoot also works since many leafborers climb the plant's stem.

Bug bags are good for Japanese beetles, there are several different types of traps and lures which don't entail putting anything on the plants you intend to eat. Lehman's in Ohio is a good Amish supply house you might want to check out, they have many natural solutions for productive gardens.

You need ladybugs to kill the aphids.
Whatever insecticide you use can be dangerous if the directions are not carefully followed. Some require a minimum time between usage and harvest.
Read ALL the instructions on anything you put on your vegetable garden.
