How can I stop inch/canker worms from coming in through the fireplace?
Question:The possibly obvious answer of lighting a fire won't work, as we can't do so safely.
Any other ideas would be much appreciated!

lay salt, it will burn them
A temporal wormhole should do the trick!
Seal the opening, use malathion and spray them. Or if you are so inclined "catch and release"in a ecofriendly area miles from your home.
