I have courgette plants in window boxes, do I get rid of the male flowers to help courgette growth?

Question:

Answers:
you don't have to get rid of the male flowers to get courgettes but some schools of thought say they make the fruits bitter.I have always removed the male flowers myself because like cucumbers they are self fertile now, because of the modern plant breeders art.

i think that's what the courgettes grow from, when i've seen just picked courgettes, they have flowers on the end like carrots have green stuff. unless there are male and female flowers. sorry, not sure
dont know if there is some special rule for courgettes but from what i remember a flower is both male and female. the female parts need to be "impregnated" by the pollen from another courgette flower, hence making the baby..the courgette.

so answer to you r question, no if you remove the flower you will get no courgettes at all.
It doesn't matter either way.
you must leave the male flowers as the gourgettes need to be pollinated.you can help the process by dusting pollen from a male flower into the female flower using a small soft paintbrush.arround midday is a good time to do this
I grow them and dont snap any off you might be getting them confused with cucumbers which you snap the male flowers of to stop them tasting sour.
