Why do weeds grow so fast??!!?
Question:We keep tearing them out of our lawn and they seriously come back by the next day at least 6 inches tall already...whats up with that??!!
Answers:
In my opinion, very few plants are actually true weeds. The DNR has lists of noxious and invasive plants that you will want to control, preferably in natural ways like pulling or blanketing. Plants strive to survive so expect them to be tenacious.
On the other hand, grass leaves a HUGE carbon foot print. The gas used by mowers to cut grass create an imbalance to the system. I have worked to reduce the size of my lawn to a very small area where we picnic and filled the yard with plants and trees to balance the ecosystem of my yard.
Do a search for your region, state and county to find alternatives for your yard. Reducing the area of grass will reduce the work you have to do to keep it "weed" free.
to keep up with the stoners
Mother nature.
Weeds are plants that take from the soil while giving little or nothing back, so they can devote all their energy to growth. Rather like selfish people.
just cause nobody wants them
Because they evolved to live... plants don't live their life based on human concept of time. You can find weed killers that kill common types of weeds but allow grass to grow.
Have you ever seen an Iceberg? Most of it is underneath. It's the same with weeds.Their root growth is vast.I have weeds coming up in my driveway, when the plant is several metres away from the garden. That is why you need to treat your weeds with something like Roundup.Gets right to the root system.Good Luck!
