It's perfectly safe for the pool materials, pump, filter, etc. It's even perfectly safe for the water.
However, you are going to have a LOT of clean up maintenance to do. Your chemicals are going to have to be rebuilt, your time spent is going to be heavy, and the cost is going to be over $400 to do it all on an average sized pool.
I've cleaned pools that folks have thought was funny to do this to (apartment complex that I adminstrated their water facility). It can be cleaned out but it's a real pain to do so.
No it does something to the PH and you will have a lot of problems with it.
I believe it will mess up your pH and I know it leaves scum on the sides [ think giant bathtub ring ].
You would need LOTS of bubble bath to fill a pool!
I wouldnt do it if it was gonna be used for swimming. Beforr anyone could swim, youd have to drain and clean the pool really well or else swimmers would be geting into water thats not real healthy to them, i.e., soap in eyes, soap in mouth on accident which in turn causes diarrhea. Id rethink the whole idea if I was you.
NOOOOOOO!! Your chemicals will hate you for it...sounds like fun, but more trouble than it will be worth.
Bubblebath will not hurt your pool -- the liner has to deal with much worse. It will ruin the water, and if it gets into the pump and/or filter you will never get rid of it.
If you really must do this, seal off the filter system, both on the skimmer and the discharge. Plan on draining the pool after you are done and rinsing well.
Much more work than I would be willing to take on.
You need to find a hobby.You have too much time on your hands.
Go to your local pool and Spa dealer and they can get you the right bubble mix that won't mess up your pool. They do make a bubble additive that is ph balanced and perfectly compatible for pools and spa's. Hope this helps.
