Depends on if you are willing to kill them or just catch them and turn them out. Which doesn't do any good because they just come back.
If you don't want to get an animal, cat or dog. Set mice traps out with peanut butter in them. Whether they be a regular trap or a live trap. Peanut butter works wonders.

actually i wouldn't because once you get rid of mice, you get rats.
A-dopt a cat !! not only will this completely cure rodent problems you will have one more friend to come home to !
Traps don't always kill rodents outright, then you're left with a live, injured animal that need euthanizing.
I've used live traps and released them in a remote location, away from houses. Yes, if you let them go in your yard, they will find their way back in -- had that happen for sure with a mouse that was missing a chunk of ear.
Plug up holes where they can get in. Get a cat.
