How Do I Permanately Remove Someone From My Mailing Address??
Question:Long story short, when i got married, we got a post office box in both our names (our mail only goes to the post office, not my house)..now i am divorced and want to recieve my mail only...not hers!!! well...i had her name removed from the post office list but i am still getting her mail at times and am tired of it..what can i do in order to stop getting her mail delivered to my box?
thanks...
if i gave them her new address, that still doesnt work..

Just keep labeling her mail as , "Return to sender, address unknown". It took a while, but it finally got rid of almost all the mail coming to my exhusband. Weird thing about mail lists is, they must keep circulating. I have been divorced from my ex for over twenty years, and as of just a few years ago, I would get the occasional piece of junk mail for him. I still marked it, "Return to sender", if for no other reason than to cost the junk mailer a few more cents for bothering me.
SHE needs to file for a change of address at the post office.
change your address? move?
you can tell her to take he leter every week at the postoffice herself.
Get a new PO box
Post office has to forward for one year. Put Forward to: and her address and place in mail, you don't have to pay for this. Think of it no more. I would also black out my address on the envelope.
march up to the post office and demand that ger named be removed.it worked with me when i didnt want the previous owner of my house's mail....try it out. if it doesnt work check back with me.
If it's junk mail, every three months, pop a letter out of your computer saying you do not wish to receive any mail to this or that name and address. Send it to Direct Mail Preference Service (the post office will give you the address, or you can look for it on the web). This is the largest junk mail sender and you can stay off their lists if you do this. I am religious about this (and sending back prepaid envelopes with instructions on removing me from their lists) I have revolving tenants at my house and I only get regular mail, no junk. Also, look for phone numbers on the mailing and call and get you (or her) off their lists.
My uncle used to work for the Post Office. He said that they're not allowed to NOT deliver mail. If it's addressed to your house and there's no forward order on file, they have to deliver it.
Go to the post office and get a change of address card. There is a box you can mark that says the change is for the individual named on the card ONLY. You can fill it out for your ex and mail addressed to her will be forwarded to her.
At least that's how it works with a street address. They may not be able to forward from a PO Box. It's worth asking about when you turn in the change of address card. If you remain calm, the people at the Post Office can be very helpful. If they're not helpful, ask to speak to the Postmaster. (S)He is the boss at the branch.
