Mold and Ammonia Cleaning What can I use?

Question:I've been divorced from my ex-for 2 years. He kept our cats and I moved out. We want to sell the house now, but he has had a problem keeping it clean. The basement is FULL of mold and cat urine... what is the best cleaner, and safest way to clean it ourself?
Please list the names of cleaners and where I can rent equipment...
Should I get some kind of exhaust system going? Before or after the clean up?
Its not a little problem its most of the basement.

Answers:
I find that cleaning my damp smelly basement with a mixture of bleach and water works best, about 1 part bleach to 3 parts HOT water. Just keep it well ventilated, but be sure not to mix bleach and ammonia. :)

I don't think the job is going to be easy. I bet the cat's urine has penetrated the flooring. You're going to have to use something like Nature's Miracle, or Simple Solution to get most of the smell out, then paint everything with an odor sealant, like Kilz.

The mold will be killed with the Clorox. Ammonia does nothing for either problem.
