Is there a way to rid your lawn of mushrooms that won't harm your pets?

Question:

Answers:
Mushrooms are caused by gas or toxins in the soil that come to the surface in the form of mushrooms. They are common in mossy areas, where stagnant water can carry bacteria and gases and seep into your lawn. There's not much you can do to get rid of them, except just pull them out. You can rake them out if you don't want to touch them.

shrooms grow in moist areas, you probably have moss also. Why get rid of them?? My husband, the tiller guy, would say till the whole yard (you can do it in sections). Keep the animals in a grassy section by using fence. Then seed good seed in the tilled area and keep going. All you need do in areas that are resistant to grass is use a rake and rake over the area, grass seeds itself.
mushrooms grow on wood only, so there must be some wood in your soil, it could have been there from years ago, and just right now you have the right conditions for them to grow (humidity and such). no fungicide will eliminate mushrooms. the only thing you can really do is pull 'em.
