How do you get rid of an ant invasion?

Question:My friend has one.

Answers:
We had one too, after several trials and errors, I found out from a friend that baking soda works best. You simply feed them what they think is food. Leave a line of baking soda in the area of where the ants are, (in my case they entered the house) they come and get the food to bring to their "queen", but the food is poisonous to them, thus killing the queen and the ant nest. The key is to kill the queen as well, otherwise they will continue to tunnel through to where the food is. It worked for me. Robbie

Ant kill Powder. you can spread it around the are, the ants take it back to the nest and it kills them..
Andro ant granules for outside and Terro ant drops inside.
I'm in the UK and recently suffered the same thing with about 8 nests in my garden. I bought a product called "Ant Stop - Bait Station". It's a little container with 4 feeding holes around it that you put down anywhere you see ant activity. Inside each feeding hole is a poison that has been flavoured so the ants just can't get enough of it. Within minutes of putting mine down they were covered with ants. The idea is the ants have a feed then go back to the nest to die. Either that or they die on route and their mates drag them back to the nest. Either way the nest then becomes poisoned from the bodies and there's complete nest destruction. They weren't expensive, although for bigger nests you might have to use 2 and 36 hours later there wasn't an ant to be seen in my garden!
The easiest way is with Corn Meal. Sprinkle Corn Meal all around the mounds and on top. This is a long forgotten way!
