How can we get rid of the Bats getting inside of our church?
Question:I have to decorate for a party in our finished basement at the church and these bats are sleeping . When they wake up they fly around . What can be done?

I would say turn the lights on all the time? Bats like the dark.
You could also try building a bat house outside your church, they will go live there instead. This worked for a friend of mine because bats were staying in his garage.

when they fall for it do not touch the bats, with a shovel or pliers pick them up place them in a plastic bag immediately , do not carry them bare to the outside, place a little squirt of bleach in the bag and tie a knot.

Yikes. Here's the thing, bat urine and feces is hazardous, and if you try to remove them yourself, you'll do more harm than good. You need to contact a professional, and be prepared to spend some money on it. Do NOT try to take care of the problem yourself, though.

At a supercenter like Lowes or Home Depot you can buy this product called Bat -a-way. These are plugged in to the wall socket and emit a noise that aggravates the bats and they leave. Humans cant hear it so you can leave it plugged in.
