Bottle brush plant?

Question:I planted a bottle brush plant earlier this year and althogh healthy it has no flowers on it. anyone know why?

Answers:
Shan, these can be a bit tricky. It does need a place with a good sun exposure and will take some time to produce a lot of flowers. I think you will be OK next year. depending on where you live, at the end of the growing season prune it down and put down some very light fertilizer. Do you know what the pH of the soil is ? they like rich, but well drained soil.

Maybe it needs to be crossed pollinated.
I think my mum's took two years to flower.
IT needs time to establish itself. Don't over feed it as it will only produce wood growth. It needs plenty of sunshine! Talk to it.
