Do pumpkins start out green and then turn yellow or are they always yellow.?


Question:My pumpkins look like the watermelon plants do. They are green with dark green strips.

Pumpkins do start off looking like watermelons ...

But not all end up orange either -

I usually grow Lumina Pumpkins for the kids and they finish up with a white outer shell!
Last year I had some that never turned and stayed green...why? Not real sure.
