Well I stepped on a snake and now I am all freaked out!?

Question:Where I live I need to get used to them and so far that's not happening.

Answers:
Most snakes are very good neighbors to have in your garden. They keep birds away from fruits and vegetables, and eat a fair number of insects. I wouldn't worry about them at all.

You may try walking with a pet like a dog or cat. A pet will spot another animal way before you will.
Just look at them as quiet neighbors. Most snakes are beneficial in that they eat things that spread disease like mice. They may look strange but that is all in your perception. Just change it. Easy for me to say, you may need a pro to help.
Well I would rather step on a snake than a big pile of dog doo...I bet that was scary though. Just make sure you watch your step when you are walking and do not walk in places where snakes would be hiding...such as under or around a large rock, bushes or plant cover you cannot see around, etc.

Good luck.
Relax the snake is thinking another stupid human just tried to kill me...be more careful
I think you need to identify what kind of snake you stepped on for safety sake.
I stepped on one once and I still feel weird about it! Yuck!
If there are dangerous snakes in your area I'd wear boots.
And if you don't know for sure try calling your local agriculteral agent (in States) to ask for advice.
snakes are disgusting. i hope u never get used to them
