How can i get my japanese maple to come back after a frost?
Question:We had a bad frost several months ago. I covered my japanese maple (which is only about 2 years old), but the frost still got it. I had been told it should come back after about 6-8 weeks, but all it has is leaves that are all very close to the trunk. all the branches are bare and white and dead looking. when you break a piece of twig off, it is dead throughout.
What can i do to make it come back? should I prune it and, if so, how as i would hate to have a tree that is al trunk and no branches. Please help!

the biggest mistake people make when storing plants away for the winter is they never water it during winter, not too much but enough to so the soil stays moist.
watering it every few weeks during the winter months will help the plant grow again and not free during the spring.
I never owned a japanse maple but by the sounds of it your plant seems like its dead.
How often do you water it? what kind of food do you give the plant? fertilizer would be good place to start maybe.
also loosen up the soil if its in the pot or ground.
I had a plant that was frozen during the winter for lack of water since i have many other plants stored but this one froze. I planted it in the ground but I noticed it wasnt growing well after a week since but the other ones of same plants did.
I added fertilizer and watered it for a good 30min-1hr and now its growing at the same rate as the other plants.
