I am trying to figure out the name of a certain plant.?

Question:Someone told me that "cate merdels" are pretty plants. Well, actually I know that isn't what they said. I've been trying to figure out exactly how they said it and how it is spelled. Does anyone have an idea?

Answers:
Could it be Cape Myrtle or Crepe Myrtle?

It's Crepe Myrtle and it's more of a tree than a plant.

Crape Myrtles.

Note that they're not crepe myrtles....not pancake trees.
Yeah, the correct spelling is crape myrtle, though it's been misspelled so much that crepe is *almost* acceptable. ;)

Now, if only I could have a crepe maple...fluffy AND sweet! mmmmm.

Back to business: crape myrtles are grown extensively here in TX and they are gorgeous accent trees. Moderate to small with mounds of flower clusters, they bloom all summer long and are easy to maintain. Some hybrids have attractive smooth bark, which is showcased with regular pruning.
Is this someone french speaking, if yes he may be pulling your leg, it sounds kind of "cat's ****" in french, if no I agree with the others about Cape myrtle see http://www.desert-tropicals.com/plants/m... to check if it is the one.
