Something is eating the leaves of my beet plants.Looks like a tiny worm or bug.Leaves are 2" high. HELP?

Question:

Answers:
These are leaf miners. They will not affect the beet root, but they do, as you have noticed, like to eat the leaves. You can control them by picking the leaves off and disposing of them, don't put the leaves in your compost pile, dispose of them in the garbage.

Sevin will not control the miners once they are in the leaves. You can use a systemic insecticide that will control them, but using such a compound will counteract your desire to grow fresh, healthy vegetables. Using other insecticides can actually increase the problems with leaf miners because they kill other insects that feed on them.

Good Luck and Happy Gardening from Cathy and Neal!

You need to go to Wal-Mart, K-Mart wherever and buy some seven dust. You can put it on the plants and the bugs will leave. It is good stuff.

Hope that this helps you.
