Modo bamboo in zone 6?

Question:anyone have any experience growing bamboo in zone 6?
I want to grow some really big stuff and I am not sure what I should plant, I want to container grow it

Answers:
Moso is recommended zones 7 and higher, but it would never hurt to try it! Just know that Moso is a runner and a very large one at that that WILL take over everything once it matures. So unless you are on a farm or have lots of acreage I suggest maybe looking into some cold hardy clumpers.

I think you're looking for Moso bamboo, Phyllostachys heterocycla pubescens, what a mouthful, no wonder they call it Moso! It's the largest of the running bamboo, up to 8", so it's going to need a pot the size of your backyard! LOL It's hardy down to 5 deg. F, what ever zone that is? RScott
