I need the RECIPE from jerry baker for flowers?
Question:There used to be a gardener Jerry Baker, he had a book for using items around your house for fertilizers for flowers and trees. Does anyone have this recipe to 1. make your lawns green 2. get bugs off trees,(eastern redbud) thanks
Answers:
here's his recipe called "gradma putts SPRING grass tonic:
1 cup epsom salts
1 cup listerine mouthwash
1 cup liquid soap
1 cup household ammonia
fill the balance of a quart jar with beer
use this solution in a hose sprayer
"grandma putt's SUMMER tonic":
1cup household ammonia
1 cup epsom salts
1 cup listerine mouthwash
1/2 cup liquid dishsoap
2 cans beer
Fall tonic:
2 cups epsom salts
2 cups dishwashing soap
3 Tbls. baking powder
1 cup tobacco juice
fill balance of quart jar with water and spray with hose sprayer
for the eastern redbud tree:
if it flies, jumps or hops=methoxychlor, kelthane, malathion, or sevin
if it crawls=dipel or thuricide brand names for bacillus thuringiensis
if it's a disease not an insect=spray containing captan, benomyl or thiram
*you can add liquid dishsoap to any of these to make them stick better
i'm taking this straight from the book--sure hope it helps
sure, I have his book, my mom used to use a lot of his suggestions too. His book is online on his website, or you can get it from amazon.com
