What veg to plant in july?
Question:
Answers:
Beets. carrots, green beans can all still be planted. Read the backs of seed packages. They will say something like "plant at 3-week intervals through mid-summer". Read how long till maturity - then count backwards from the normal first frost date in your area. Beets, for example only take 60 days, carrots 75 days.
Unless you are in Alaska, it's a little late to be planting.
Plants need to have a good root growth before really hot weather sets in.
You may be able to get away with tomatoes that are already fairly large. Strip off all leaves but the very top, dig a trench and plant the entire stem all the way up to the top leaves. Or put them into a pot.
You can also buy pepper that are fruiting and put them into a pot.
But don't plan on starting anything from seed this late. Most seed packets have a number of days to maturity listed, veggies that take 100 days to mature, that is over 3 months, which would put them at Oct before they mature. See?
Good Luck!
Field peas, okra, butter beans, cukes. Depends where you live.
Virago Man
Bush beans, radishes, lettuce, anything that has a 60-90 day maturation. Count back from the last average frost date in your area and go from there.
