Does anyone know the best way to green the lawn?
Question:There is a receipe containing epson salt & or sugar or something of the same. Heard about it on a cable show and is wondering if there is such a receipe for a greener lawn.
Answers:
Epsom salts contain magnesium which is used by plants, if your soil is deficient in magnesium then it would help. Most soils are not magnesium deficient.
A green lawn in the summer requires spring and fall fertilization, at least one inch of water weekly, mowing at no shorter than 3 inches, leaving clippings on lawn and 6 hours of sun daily.
u can use special fertilizers, they should be sold at your local gardening center
you can water extra
Nitrogen fertilizer and Ironite.
Recipe for greener lawn
1 can of soda- not diet
1 can of beer- not light
1/2 cup dishwashing soap (DO NOT USE ANTI-BACTERIAL)
1/2 cup mouthwash
1/2 cup household ammonia
Put all ingredients into a 10 gallon hose end sprayer, a 10 gallon sprayer attaches to the end of a hose and it distributes it with 10 gallons of water sprayed onto the lawn.
You can find them at any Home and Garden Store or any store that sells gardening supplies. Hope this helps. For any other questions you have you can join http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gardeningf...
Haven't heard of that one.I use Gro-plus lawn fertiliser on mine.I water with a sprinkler hose at nightime as grass grows better then.I also put holes in lawn with garden fork, as this helps to aereate soil.
anytime I want to give everything a shot of green I sling a couple of bags of Epsom salt around and stand around amazed at the transformation!
