How do you git rid of Dog Fennels.?

Question:I'm trying to establish a new lawn. I planted centipede grass last year. It's starting to spread very well & I have lots of runners but I have a ton of dog fennels. Anything I can spray without killing the grass?

Answers:
Low mowing due to its upright growth habit. Good fertilization that encourages thicker turf will help reduce dog fennel.

Best control is herbicide use; use a post-emergent herbicide application to dog-fennel that is actively growing and in the seedling to flower stage of growth.
