Why are my cherries so small?

Question:I have a few cherry trees in my yard at my new house, and I know that it is cherry season, but my cherries are so tiny, and a little bitter. The seller of the house said that it was an edible cherry tree! How do cherries get bigger?

Answers:
I would bet that this is not the type of tree that you are used to. They might be good for preserves.

Many things are edible. It's just a matter of it tasting good to you! lol
Try watering it more. . .
water & a good fruit tree fertilizer
I'd guess it's a choke cherry tree. you can eat the cherries, but they are EXTREMELY bitter... therefore the name: choke cherry. It's a wild cherry, the kind that cherry wood comes from.
