Tree damage in floods...can you help.?

Question:I have a rowan tree that is about 10 years old, the water created a puddle of about a foot and with the gale last night it is now resting on my lawn. The roots still in very soggy ground.
The tree has not snapped.

Can anyone advise me on what to do.

Stake it? What size stakes?

Tie it back? How and loosely? Tight?

Cut it back first?

Should I wait till all the water recedes?

The lawn is not walkable on yet but may be tomorrow it should be

I live near the coast in Lincolnshire

No we are not badly affected but I loved the Rowan.

Any help welcome

If Louis X1V could have fully-grown oak trees transplanted, I'm sure you can have a good go at saving your Rowan - I love them, too.
Go to your nearest garden centre (or B & Q) which you'll need to do to find your stake, and ties. Tell them what has happened and let them advise you.
Before you go, measure up to the lowest branches and the girth of the tree. Estimate the total height. Give these measurements to the member of staff who is helping you.
You may need to dig round the hole so that it is large enough to coax the tree back to the original soil level. Try to keep the root ball intact if you can. Tread the ground around the trunk firmly to keep it in place but not so that you break any surface roots.
There is another downpour forecaste by the way - I live in Worcestershire, but away from the Severn and the Teme so we're OK, too. Friends haven't been so fortunate.

what is the hight ?
If the tree that has blown over is about 10 yrs old , then I'm sorry but even if you could pull it back up it will probably die anyway, its main root system will have broken. You will be better to cut it up now, it hasn't much chance.
stake it but do it now while the ground is still wet do it a little at a time so you can ease the stress of bringing it back and try not to seperate the bark when you do use a burlapsack or something like around stem so you dont injure tree when you try to putit back up .you also need to help out your root system with more soil i guess if you use more soil remember to get air out of root system so it wont die put soil and wet it in so there will be no air pockets to dry roots good luck take your time no hurry
