Spring Parade Lilac Care.Help?

Question:My mom just gave me a Spring Parade Lilac to babysit while she is out of town. I live in So. Cal. Can someone give me basic care instructiions?

Answers:
Spring Parade is a common lilac that has blue blooms with pink edges. They are not a difficult plant to care for. They need average soil and average watering needs. Don't over water. Let the soil dry out between watering. Monitor the soil moisture. Use your finger to check the top 2-3" of soil under the Lilac. When the top 2-3" is dry, but moist below that, you can water. Deep infrequent watering is always the best.

You can remove the spent blooms if you haven't already.

LOTS of water; direct sun.
