Is there such a thing as a soil spreader for lawns or do you just have to use a shovel?

Question:

Answers:
There is specialized equipment used primarily in golf course maintenance for spreading soil over turf. The process is called top dressing. The equipment, therefore, is called a topdresser. Here is a link to the Toro topdresser models: http://www.toro.com/grounds/cultivation/... Here is a link to a push model: http://www.earthandturf.com/tf24d.htm...

I've never seen this equipment in a rental store. You can check in your area, but I fear you'll just have to use a shovel like the rest of us (unless you know a grounds keeper).

unless you have a tractor with a leveling blade.
the best way to spread it would be to relocate smaller mounds with a shovel then use a lawn rake to level it out.
