How early can I cut my lawn on Sunday morning and not be rude to the neighbors?
Question:Our neighborhood is all individual houses on 3/4 to one acre lots. I use a well-maintained John Deere 5.5HP walk-behind gas mower.

I think anytime after 9 am is fine.
After 9am they can go to hell if they still want sleep. On a weekday, 6am.
6:00 a.m. as long as it's a John Deere. For a Toro about 10:00

I work night shift, so I usually get home around 7:45am... when I mow the lawn, I wait until about 9:30am at the earliest.

..Wait till after 12 , I try to be considerate of the ones that like to sleep late on the weekends, that got up early everyday to go to work.
My town bylaws restrict the use of motorized tools before 7am Monday through Saturday and 9am on Sunday.
Well my neighbors don't give a s%#@ when they mow their lawn, so do it when you feel you need too!!

waiting for the dew to dry should be about right and you don't want to cut wet grass anyway. It will rust your deck and it doesn't cut well anyway
I can tell you this much, a lawnmower is the last thing you want to hear when you are suffering a hangover from Saturday night.
That being said, I would wait until sometime between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM to start cutting the lawn.
If you really feel that you are being "rude", you can do what I did, I bought a battery-powered electric lawn mower. It makes a lot less noise than a gas powered one.

You can cut your lawn in the morning on Sunday as you wish. The neighbors will have to live with it or move.
Your lot is big enough that the sound of the mower will cause minimal disturbance, and you could get away with a 7 or 8 AM time, but the thing to consider is, is your grass dry at that time..you should always wait until the dew has evaporated before mowing. Cutting wet grass makes your mower work harder, clogs the deck, and does not always cut the grass evenly. Unless it is some sort of an emergency, I'd wait until 8:30 or 9.
i give it 'til about 9-10 am before heading outside to cut the grass. by then most people are up and about for church, breakfast or shopping.

I agree that after 9AM is more than ample. A couple of alternatives to entertain;buy a goat or get one of those old fashioned push mowers, you know the kind that have no motor- they have like a fly wheel blade and it cuts the grass. Why not ask your neighbors?
get a cordless electric or a simple push mower, those don't make much nose at all. Better for the enviroment (TAX DEDCUTION) and good exercise for you.

Check with your HOA, City Hall or County Planner to see if there is a code in your area. Here in Florida, we have a code for nearly every activity known to mankind.
Second, you could try being a good neighbor and asking your closest neighbor(s) if it presents an issue since they may work late on Saturday's and you aren't aware you are being an a$$hole waking them up. Wow What a concept, communication. Politicians may learn from this one, but let's not hold our breath on that one just yet.
If the abover are not a factor, I personally restrain from cutting before 8am on a Sunday (even though it gets beastly warm around 10am). Better yet, wait until later in the afternoon when the sun is not at its warmest. Exception being during football season of course.

9:00 AM, but you can wait until 10:00 if they were up late partying. Of course, if they were up late partying and it bothered you, you can always start at 7:00 and claim you have to go out of town for the rest of the day if anyone asks.
