Cherry tomatoes ripen, then rot...?
Question:I bought a cherry tomatoe plant from Wal-Mart about one -two months ago. They finally started to produce, ripen..then the bottoms rot, and the tomatoe falls off the vine. I do not know what is going on. Has anyone had any similar experiences?

It's called "Blossom End Rot." Look at the entry on our blog entitled "Why are my tomatoes turning black?"

What happens if you pick 'em and eat 'em? Or maybe I just don't understand the question.
It is called blossom end rot and is caused by a lack of calcium. Keep the soil uniformly moist, and mulch. Apply calcium nitrate or calcium chloride spray.
your soil is difficient in calcium, apply calcium carbonate and use fertilizer with calcium. it is a disease called blossom-end-rot.
Look up blossom rot. since i don't know where you live i suggest you call your county agent for a solution.
Too dry or too wet can cause that problem.
