my sister has a nine foot long by 3 feet deep pond in her back yard.. which i help set up... we got our ideas and most of the supplies at menards! we live in s. burbs

This is just a couple I found on-line, but there are many more. And these ponds are not just for certain areas, they are for anyplace in the U.S. that can be made. It's just that in some areas of the U.S., we have to make special preparations for winter. We have a small one in our back yard and it doesn't get any colder than SD in the winters.
Just look at these pictures and get an idea of what you like as far as style or maybe ideas from 3 or 4 different styles. That's the whole fun of making your own pond.
