Any good tips on how to grow a cherry tree from seed?

Question:

Answers:
Clean the seeds with water of any cherry fruit and sow directly into your garden. Remember that a seed should not be planted deeper than two times its diameter.

If you do not plant directly into your garden, then cold stratify the seeds for 90 days at 41 degrees F. Six weeks before planting, cover the seeds with water and chill for another 48 hours. Drain the seeds and return to the refrigerator. Some of the seeds may germinate before you sow with this method, if so then plant on the surface with only a 1/4" covering of fine vermiculite.

no, i've tried many times but never got it to work, probably best to buy one at the store or online for 15$
