I have a question about an unusual 'insect' that is frequenting my butterfly bush?

Question:It is large, 1 1/2 to 2 inches long, black and yellow, unusual wings. By the way, it is not a bumble bee. Anyone out there who might know what this is, I can use any info. I am not even sure it is an insect, it flies like a hummingbird and seems to have a 'beak' like a hummingbird.

Answers:
Believe it or not - it's a hummingbird moth!
They are fascinating in duplicating a hummingbird!
They are harmless!
Check them out on line - do a search for 'hummingbird moths' and see all the different styles and species.
There are also lunar style hummingbird moths as well - the ones that come out only at nite.
here's a site to see them

With the "unusual wings" it's probably a clearwing hummingbird moth.

We get them around the butterfly bush and the late blooming pink lilacs.
