How can we get rid of blue grass?

Question:Somehow.before we bought our home.Blue Grass ended up in our front yard. It's like a mistake. Maybe the previous owner didn't realize it was blue grass. Obviously planted in a small area..Now we mow, and that blue grass keeps over-towering the other grass. It's a higher patch of grass that we would like to get rid of. Is there any easy way to do this? We don't want to dig it up, but thought there might be a way to spray it...re-seed.I don't know. Any answers? We thank you.
