I need grass!!!?
Question:I have 4 dogs. Let's get that out of the way. My backyard used to be nice. You know, the trees and grass. Now, its a mudpit. What are the steps I should take to first get back my lawn and two keep it that way even with the dogs out there. They don't stay out there all the time. They are inside dogs. But they spend most of the day out there during the summer months. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This answer is easy. Plain and simple, install turf in your yard. You will lose the yard for a few days while you water and fertilizer, but the strength of already grown grass is far unmatched by any grass you will germinate by way of seed. So long as you fertilize, and aerate the soil you will be able to maintain the yard to the highest yield of long lasting green grass ever, dogs or not. Good luck hope this helps

first of all, keep the dogs in the hosue or in the front yard in the process of re-grwoing your grass. secondly pick a fertalizer and grass seeds. when planting them it could be helpful to put up caution tape.
There is these wheels that you can rent and you attach them at the end of any vehicle like a four wheeler a car or a dirt bike. What the wheel does is poke little holes in the ground.Then you get grass seeds and spread them where the holes are they will go into the holes.And then you a soil called lime it will keep the bugs away. And water it and take care of the grass that will grow.
Rope off 1/2 at a time. Till and put down starter fertalizer then heavy seed of some tough grass (They bag it and call it playground grass or High Traffic grass). You should find a food that your dogs can process (digest) and not have urine kill spots. I feed "Nutra nuggets" and my dogs urine does not kill the grass. The pills you give the dogs so their urine does not kill grass is hard on their kidneys and I strongly advise against a pill supplement.
You can try a couple of different foods and I would go with Purina because of all the pet foods recalled, Purina has NO RECALL at all. Yes, I am switching my dogs also.
Anywy, Plant a tough grass, let it get established then do the other 1/2.
Designate a part of your yard strictly for the dogs and install a dog run. There is no reason any one of you should hog the whole yard. Share!
