I've applied water seal to my cedar fence. How much longer will the fence last and how often do I reapply ?

my dad uses thompsons water seal ® once a year on his deck, 3000ft elevation, 3 months snow.
We have to do it each year. We also have wood deck around the pool, so we do both at the same time. We use a large pest a cide sprayer with bleach, then let it set till we are done with all of it. Then we use the power washer. We have the fence, deck, and a very large kids swing set. We can do all of it in one day. The swing set has been done now for 13 years, and it was second hand when we got it. The guy that built for his kids told us to do it every year and we have and it still looks great. We use a sprayer to apply the water sealer
