How do you create a stripe effect on a Lawn?
Question:If its a lawn mower that does it , could anyone recomend one Thank you
Answers:
Ideally with a cylinder mower, not a rotary one.and with a roller behind. Cut the grass in opposite directions.trying to keep the edges of the cut straight. The stripes are a visual effect of the way the grass is laying.Towards you or away from you.
I know they say the roller blade ones do it. Or you'll need one of those big old fashioned roller things like you see in the Beano comic.
You simply need to add a roller, weighted rubber flap or chains to the the trailing edge of your mower deck. What these devices do is push the grass down. Now mow every other pass in the opposite direction. When grass is pushed down, it will appear lighter or darker depending upon wither the grass is pushed down away from you or towards you, respectively. This can be done with a push mower or a riding mower. Any mower will work. Here is good link that describes the technique in more detail: http://www.scag.com/lawnstriping.html...
A lawn mower. Mine.
yes it is a lawn mower, any will do it if they have rollers on the back, and you walk in a straight line to end of garden, reposition mower for next stripe, and walk back with it, its the contrast of walking in opposite directions for each stripe
just mow it in opposite directions, ideally with a mower which has a roller on the back
Any mower will do the trick..it all depends on your technique.
you can use any mower with a roller on the back and just walk up and down your garden in alternate directions.. easy as that!
I have a Bosch lawnmower which i brought a few weeks ago and its give a nice stripe effect. just go up and down the lawn in opposite direction's and there you have it.
My man loves the lawn to look like wembly stadium grass. He mows it with his old noisy mountfield mower which is on its last legs. He does what the others have said, just goes up and down, or vertical, or horizontal, which ever way he wants the lines to look.
get a roller at the back of your mower.
As others ave said, a roller on the back of the mower and mow in alternate directions.
Incidentally, when I had a landscape company I was interviewing "qualified" job applicants and asked the same question:
one reply... Sow bands of different grass seed!
