What is the best?
Question:What is the best vine in a spot where there is alot of sun,? And it is on a patio. Also I'm looking for a perrenial.
Answers:
1. Honeysuckle can be invasive; it definitely spreads, so if you plant it, you must choose a fairly large area and it doesn't do well indefinitely in pots.
2. Clematis can be potted, is beautiful but can be difficult to care for; it prefers that its roots stay shaded and cooled, i.e., by mulching thickly. It may be damaged easily by wind.
3. Wisteria is sturdy and attractive but very strong (it can pull fences down) and a baby wisteria plant can take 7-10 years to bloom.
4. Morning glories can be potted, are beautiful but are annuals; they do, however, self-seed generously.
5. Hyacinth bean vines, which can be potted, an annual, do self-seed; or you can collect the seeds and replant.
All of the above vines are on my and my neighbor's property.
Good luck!
Clementius.a perennial that does very well in full sun
Honey Suckel or Jasmine is good. I have mine by the pool.
you really have a large range to pick from if you get plenty of sun, all vines are perrenial.
There are deciduous which loose its leaves in the winter and lets the sun in then grows well in the summer and gives you shade eg wisteria but it has large roots
Is it in the ground or will it be in a tub? if its in a pot you will need a good sized one and regular fertilizing.
it will also depend if you would like a certain color to fit in with your existing color scheme?
