Allotments...?
Question:I'm in South London and am hoping to rent an allotment, does anyone know where theres some that don't have 5 year waiting lists!? somewhere in the Peckham Rye - Clapham area would be good :-)
Also any info on how to find out about allotments will also be of huge help!
Thank you...

Allotment plots in London are always in great demand, unfortunately. There are fewer and fewer of them as pressure mounts to turn them into housing estates. Like you I was facing the prospect of a long wait until one turned up. I jumped at it but now realise why I was offered it! It's in a shady spot and overrun with weeds and had been neglected by the previous tenant. So the lesson is to keep trying and hoping that a plot that few want will turn up. Making friends with present holders will sometimes help.

how about america!!!!!
Ask Del Trotter - he found a spring on his and started selling bottled water. You could be a millionaire by next year! The price of land in London - you'll be lucky to buy a 12 inch square to put a pot on!
Speak to your local council! I'm in SW London (just) and live right opposite some allotments and there are loads that are not being used, rent is supposed to be really cheap too.
Good luck in finding one x
Come and live here in Germany. In our region we cannot find people to join up. A lot of the plots are for sale. Ryanair and Easyjet both have good deals to Bremen, twice a week should keep your garden in good shape.
